Create your first event

From signing up to an event promoters can request, in five steps.

  1. Step 1: Sign up and choose "I run events"

Create an account on parmo.io/signup with your email, or continue with Apple or Google. Confirm the email, then pick "I run events" in onboarding. Your name and city become your brand; you can edit everything later under Brand page in the sidebar.

  2. Step 2: Open a new brief

Go to Events → "New event" and start fresh or copy a past night. The brief is one page in four chapters: The night, The look, Stories and The deal. The column beside it shows the feed card and the story you are editing as promoters will see them, and jumps between chapters.

  3. Step 3: The night and the look

The night is one sentence to fill in: the title, then the date, the doors, the closing time and the venue (search the map so the event lands on it). A closing time earlier than the doors means the morning after. Below it the category and one to five genres. Then pick one of twenty card designs: a colour gradient with a print over it (rings, stripes, dots, a grid, crosshatch, a check or pinstripes). Parmo draws the event's card and its page itself in the design you pick, and its share images and drawn stories in the same colours, so there is no flyer to upload. Add a description and the line-up if you like.

  4. Step 4: Stories and the deal

Pick the posting days, upload the story image or MP4 and place the mention sticker. A day you leave empty posts a story Parmo draws from your card design. Then the reward a verified story earns (guest list, drink balance or VIP), how promoters collect it, and whether requests are accepted automatically. See Write the posting brief and Rewards, explained.

  5. Step 5: Create the event

Press "Create event". Free is the only package on sale, so there is nothing to choose. The event appears in the feed and on the map of promoters nearby, and requests land on the event page under "Pending requests".

What to have ready

  • A portrait story image or MP4 (1080 × 1920 works best), up to 5 MB per image. It is what promoters post, so it should carry the date and the ticket call-to-action. A posting day without one posts a story Parmo draws from your card design.
  • The ticket link the story should point to. Events inherit the other links from your brand page.
  • The venue, picked from the place search. Without one the event is not on the map, and promoters filter by distance. A picked venue also saves its street address, which the public event page passes to search engines so the night can show up in Google’s event results; a place typed in as-is keeps only the city.

After publishing

The event page under Events is your control deck, in four tabs: Overview (reach, the key figures, tickets or code words, rewards, and publish, complete or cancel), Promoters (pending requests, the roster and invites), Stories (every story with its numbers, and the scheduled posts) and Details (what the brief asks for). The Promoters tab shows a count while requests wait. You can edit most fields while the event is running; what locks once a promoter has accepted is listed in Edit, cancel or complete an event.
