How Parmo verifies a story

When the checks run, what "verified" means, and what "taken down early" and "reversed" mean.

The process

After a story is posted, Parmo remembers its Instagram id and checks that it is still up: within about a quarter of an hour at first, then less often as the night goes on. When the online window closes (24 hours by default; the event page says if it differs) Parmo asks Instagram about exactly that story one last time. Still there: verified. Every story in the brief verified: the reward is released.

The match through Instagram's API is the only proof that counts. If a post does not go through, the story comes back as failed and you can post it again: there is no screenshot to upload instead, because a picture is not something Parmo can check against Instagram.

What the statuses mean

StatusMeaning
PostedWe are checking it stays online.
VerifiedIt stayed online for the full window.
FailedNot verified. The reason is on the gig.
ReversedA reward that was already released did not stand, because the story came down after it.

Why a story fails

  • Deleted early: the story was gone before the window closed.
  • No recent evidence: Parmo could not confirm it stayed online, usually because the Instagram connection expired mid-window.
  • Publish failed: Instagram never accepted the post.

If Instagram itself removed the story, write to us with the date and the event; a failed story also lowers your score.

What the organizer sees

For each verified story: when it went up, when it was checked, and the Instagram Insights (views, reach, replies, shares, profile visits, follows, link taps). No follower lists, no private data.
