Why Promoters Don't Post, and How to Stop Chasing Them
Finding reliable promoters isn't luck. Promoters don't post when nothing is at stake. A fixed reward, a clear brief and a 24-hour check change that, and good promoter management does the rest.

If you've ever tried to find reliable promoters, you know this chat. Friday, the night of the event:
17:10 – hey did u post the story?
22:41 – ?? doors in 2h
23:58 – omg sorry phone died
01:15 – it's fine
It isn't fine. The story never went up, and you spent the evening chasing instead of running your night. The pattern is so common that plenty of organizers think it's normal. It isn't. Promoters don't post when nothing is at stake, and that part you can change.
The usual excuses
Every organizer has heard them:
- "Phone died."
- "I posted it, Instagram just didn't show it."
- "I thought it was next week."
- "Uploaded it and deleted it by accident."
- Or no reply at all.
Sometimes the excuse is even true. The result is the same either way: the story is missing, and you only find out when it's too late.
Why it happens
Most promoters aren't unreliable because they're bad people. They're unreliable because the setup lets them be:
- The deal is vague. "I'll sort you out" isn't a promise anyone works towards.
- The brief is unclear. What exactly should go up, when, with which picture? If people have to guess, they put it off.
- Nobody checks. A screenshot proves a story existed once, not that it stayed up.
- There are no consequences. Skip the post and you're still on the list next time.
When nothing is at stake, the story loses out to everything else happening on a Friday.
Set the reward before the night
The first lever is a clear deal. On Parmo you set the reward when you create the event: guest list, drink balance or VIP, optionally graded by follower count. Promoters see it before they request, and once someone has accepted, it's locked.
Then the brief: every date with its asset and caption. Parmo publishes each story to the promoter's Instagram at the hour you chose, once they've allowed it. That takes most of the "I forgot" out of the equation.
And the reward only comes if the story stayed up. No story, no guest list. That isn't distrust; it's clarity for both sides. Release or withhold rewards explains how releasing and withholding work.
Check the story automatically
Collecting screenshots at 2am isn't promoter management. On Parmo the system remembers each story's Instagram id and checks through the Instagram API that it's still up: roughly every quarter of an hour at first, less often later. When the window closes, 24 hours by default, it asks about exactly that story one last time. Still there: verified. The details are in How Parmo verifies a story.
On the dashboard you see in real time who posted, which stories are still being checked, which were taken down early and who never posted. On the event page you can filter your crew, right down to whether someone ever opened the brief.
One more thing: reach only counts with real followers. How to spot fake followers shows how to catch bought reach.

A score that rewards reliability
The last lever works over time. Every promoter on Parmo has a score from 0 to 100 that starts at 50. A verified story adds to it, and so does being booked again. A story deleted early, a no-show or a lost dispute takes points away. After 90 days, old events count half.
When you invite, you see the tier: Restricted, Standard, Trusted or Top. That's how you spot reliable promoters before you invite them. And for promoters, reliability becomes something worth having: post reliably and you get the best jobs. More in Ratings and your score.
The ones who delivered for you go into a group for the next night. Club promotion: how to fill a club night explains how to turn that into a steady circle.
Frequently asked questions
How do I find reliable promoters?
Look for people from your scene, give them a clear deal and a clear brief, and keep the ones who delivered. On Parmo you see each promoter's score tier when you invite, and it climbs with every reliable story.
How do I check a story stayed up?
Parmo checks every story through the Instagram API, often at first and then less often, and asks one last time when the window closes, 24 hours by default. If it's still there, it counts as verified.
What happens if a promoter doesn't post?
There's no reward, and their score drops. They show up as "Never posted" on your dashboard, and you can simply leave them out of your next event.
