Find events near you

Where the feed searches, grid or map, radius and filters, and why an event you expected is not there.

Grid or map

Discover (the first tab on the phone, the first item in the sidebar on the web) shows open events near you as a grid of cards or as pins on a map. Both use the same filters. Tap a card or pin for the event page with the reward and what you are asked to post.

Where the feed searches

The first chip, with the pin, names the place the feed searches around. Tap it to change it:

  • Near me uses your live position. The phone or browser asks for permission the first time.
  • Home goes back to the city in your profile.
  • Everywhere lists every open event, soonest first.
  • Another city… lets you look around a different city without changing your profile, for example before a weekend away.

Until you set a city, the feed guesses one from your internet connection and marks it "(approx.)"; without a guess it starts in Köln. Nothing is saved to your profile. Set your city in your profile (Profile → Edit profile on the phone, Settings → Profile on the web) to make it stick. A city you typed without picking a suggestion is looked up within the hour, and radius search switches on once it is found.

The filters

  • Radius in kilometres around your location. "Try a wider radius" appears when nothing is inside it.
  • Nearest sorts by distance.
  • My genres keeps only events in the genres you picked at onboarding.
  • Past events shows what already happened; those no longer take requests.

Why an event is missing

  • It is outside your radius: widen it, or pick another place from the location chip.
  • It is not in your genres and "My genres" is on.
  • It is still a draft, or the organizer cancelled it.
  • It happened already: switch on "Past events".
